Here is a note from Imagine Canada on its upcoming Forum with the Ontario Trillium Foundation.  The event costs $85.  Here is the agenda.  http://www.imaginecanada.ca/files/www/en/publicpolicy/participants_agenda_ontario.pdf

Dear Colleague,
This is a challenging time for charities and nonprofits in Canada. Funding sources are shifting, attracting and retaining staff and volunteers requires new ways of thinking, and governance and accountability expectations are growing exponentially. Organizations, large and small, whether their focus is the environment, arts and culture, sports and recreation, social services, health or international cooperation, are all confronting a number of the same issues.
We believe that there is momentum to come together to work on common concerns and opportunities and that collective action will be critical in shaping the future of the sector. We are very pleased to be working with our partner in Ontario, the Ontario Trillium Foundation on this event.

The Forum is one of a series of provincial events that are taking place across the country in 2010 as part of the National Engagement Strategy. (see Concept Paper). The Forum will take place on October 29, 2010 at the Delta Toronto East Hotel. To book your accommodation, please contact the Delta Toronto East Hotel directly at (416) 299-1500 or 1-800 663-3386 and request the special Forum rate of $125 per night.

The priorities for action identified at these events will feed into a pan-Canadian Summit being held on November 29/30, 2011.
We are inviting key sector leaders, both staff and volunteers, who are interested in the common issues facing the sector, to come together to discuss what is driving change in the sector, debate what our collective priorities for action should be and to learn from each other. A draft Framework for Action, which outlines the Drivers of Change that we believe will have an impact on our sector over the next decade and which suggests possibilities for collective action will provide the focus for the day.

We are very pleased to be partnering with the Community Forward Fund to offer an additional session on the evening of October 28th. If you are thinking about new options for funding your work but are at a loss as to what the possibilities may be or if you are interested in finding out about financial fitness and advisory programs, we would encourage you to attend this session, at no additional charge.

Included you will find a preliminary agenda. We encourage you to register early as space is limited. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to contact Ann Gratton.

We hope that you will join us on October 29th and look forward to seeing you there!
